got some catching up to do......

oh my goodness gracious - has it really been 2 months since i posted last???......yikes!.......guess my idea of doing a post a day kind of crashed and burned huh?.......

well first things first - some catch up.......

kids are doing great......they're happy (most of the time) and healthy.......in fact i was thinking back to casey's baby days and i remember when she was in daycare (when she was 3-6 months old) she was constantly sick - not anything hardcore, but sniffles and coughs all the time......molly has yet to have a cough.......she had a runny nose for a couple days when she was about a month old, and had one ear infection a couple months back, but that's been it......and aside from the cold that seemed to bounce back and forth between casey and me this winter, it's been a while since casey's really had anything major either......very nice to have healthy kids.......

the weather's finally warmed up......so we can finally get out of this house!.......nice to not have to bundle everyone up just to get to the car.......we've been to lots of playparks lately and some other excursions........finally got to capron park zoo in attleboro the other day - very small, but glad we went........

we took a family vacation (first time with all 4 of us!) to florida last month.......nasa's ending the shuttle program so steve wanted to see the shuttle launch before they stopped sending them up........so we went down on a thursday morning and saw the shuttle launch the next day at kennedy space center.......it was really hot and cloudless that day so it was a bit tough juggling 2 sweaty not-napping kids especially adding 5 hours of traffic to the day but we got through it.....and the launch itself was really cool to see.......when the shuttle disappeared into the sky, casey yelled out "again!"........as if nasa could pull back the shuttle and redo the launch just for her.......it was pretty funny......we also visited magic kingdom for a day and sea world for a day while we were down there.......casey loved the show that mickey and crew put on in front of cinderella's castle.......had a bit of a scare in "snow white's scary adventures" - we figured how scary could a ride in fantasyland be right?.......well turns out it's pretty darn scary to a 2 year old.......luckily the ride was all of 30 seconds or so, so casey's pleas of "wanna get off, wanna get off" didn't last long.......taught us to stick to more "tame" rides for the rest of the day.......she seemed to enjoy dumbo, the tea cups, it's a small world, and the pooh ride......oh and of course she liked meeting mickey and minnie (although it was after her usual bedtime when we met them so she was a bit out of it unforutnately)......molly napped on and off and overall didn't get much out of disney, but we know she'll love our next trip there when she's old enough to be excited.......sea world was pretty fun - wish we had a bit more time so casey could've played in the fun kid play area but alas.......had our best meal of the trip at a shark restaurant in sea world......the rest of our trip consisted of all of us in the pool........the kids loved the water.......it was really great to hang with them in the pool........it was great to have steve with us for that many days in a row.......makes me realize how much i miss him during the week when we're home.......oh and last thing about the trip - the kids did fantastic on the plane rides.......definitely good ages to fly with kids........much better than casey's 1 year old cayman flight.......

what else......hmm......oh yes, molly had her 6 month dr appt a couple weeks ago........she was just about 15 1/2 lbs.......a solid 2 pounds lighter than casey was at the same age......hahaha........although casey was a total chub at 6 months........dr was a bit concerned about her not eating enough baby food.......should be 1-2 times a day.......molly really just hates baby food.......we've tried apples, bananas, peaches, pears, peas, carrots all to no avail.......just the other day i FINALLY found a combo she'll stomach - rice & apple baby cereal mixed with breastmilk and baby pears........no idea which ingredient makes this a "keeper" but it seems to work - she still clearly doesn't enjoy it, but at least it stays in........hopefully we can bulk her up a bit in the coming weeks.......speaking of molly food, it appears that similar to my experience with casey my body has had enough of me breastfeeding.......got my period the other day and now all milk production seems to have ceased even with the encouragement of fenugreek (lactation enhancing herb).......so think we're going to have to start using our frozen stockpile - maybe a month's worth - then switch to formula till her 1st birthday.......it's sad to think that since molly's going to be our last kid that the number of times i'm going to be able to breastfeed my babies are numbered.......guess i wasn't quite as sad about it with casey since i knew we'd have another.......only other concern the dr had about molly is that she's not really sitting up by herself yet.......she's too squirmy to do that - she really just likes to move - isn't crawling yet, but she's up on all 4s and even gets up on her feet (knees up) like she's going to stand.........she rolls and turns enough to get her where she wants to go, so even if she's not crawling, she's moving all over the place......

they're both such super cute kids.......i love being home with them.......i love watching them grow and learn new things........i'm so proud of them everyday........

more catch up to come - i'm exhausted!.......maybe this will teach me to not go 2 months without posting next time!......
